About Catchment to Tap (C2T) Nexus Project

 C2T project a five-year nexus projects project being implemented by WWF-Kenya through the funding by the Dutch Embassy to integrate water resource management (WRM) and Water Access, Sanitation and Hygiene (WaSH).

The project will be implemented majorly around Nakuru County, due to the importance of the two natural water towers located there. The project will also have a light touch in the Upper Tana Basin (Thika catchment) and Lake Victoria South Basin (Homa Bay County), where the partners are able to leverage existing work through the WaterWorX and Blue Deal projects.

Goal of the Project

The Catchment to Tap (C2T) programme has the goal of improving access and availability of clean and safe water in adequate quantities and sanitation services for all users, as well as enhance climate resilience and inclusivity in the water sector. 

What we Fund

This project supports the development of local Kenyan solutions to Kenyan challenges. Initiatives must include Integrated Water Resource Management (IWRM) and/or WASH solutions from local stakeholders that focus on securing climate resilience through restored/improved functioning of the catchments that underpin and or sustain the water cycle.
Grant amounts ranges from a minimum of Ksh. 15M to a maximum of Ksh. 30M
The budget's provision and implementation will be limited to a period of three years

Eligibility

  • Open to all institutions regulated under the water Act 2016
  • Should be under the institutional arrangement through the WRUA at the catchment level
  • Membership of the WRUA is open individually or under corporate
  • WRUA Membership is open and can be done any time according to the regulation
  • Where there is no WRUA, applicant must have a letter of support from Sub-Regional WRA
Proposal should focus more on IWRM but WASH aspects would be considered on a need basis
