WWF-Kenya and Village Market Launch Blue Explorers Programme to promote marine conservation education

Nairobi, Kenya (Wednesday, 7 August): Marine conservation in Kenya has received a major boost following the launch of the Blue Explorers Programme to promote marine conservation education.

WWF-Kenya’s Panda Club and Village Market’s Under the Sea recreational park will host children for experiential learning on marine conservation.  The programme offers engaging educational and fun experiences that foster awareness of marine life and conservation for the children who visit the recreational facility.

Hamed Ehsani, Managing Director, Village Market, said: “The Blue Explorers Programme aligns perfectly with Village Market's vision of enriching community experiences. Our partnership will provide children with engaging marine life education, instilling lifelong respect for our environment. We're proud to foster a generation of conservation-minded individuals who will champion the preservation of our marine ecosystems.”

In the new partnership, WWF-Kenya and Village Market will also focus on engaging the public to raise awareness and support marine conservation efforts in Kenya.

Mohamed Awer, Chief Executive Officer, WWF-Kenya, said: “The success of conservation will depend on the efforts we invest in today to nurture young nature champions who will take up the mantle through individual responsibility to protect and conserve our rich biodiversity. The Blue Explorers programme is a great platform for children to learn and appreciate the importance of preserving marine life.
